Water bowl in the Bradley Original

I made a cold smoker attachment for my Bradley Original; I won't use the smoke generator any more as I just love the
Amazen tube and cost savings compared to the Bradley pucks.

Do I still need the water bowl for moisture when I'm smoking sausage, brisket, pork shoulder, or ribs? Or can I just discard it?

The water bowl also catches any grease that may drip thru the v-tray,as well as adding moisture. I'd recommend you keep it

Your comment is a bit confusing to me.  You built a cold smoke adapter but will be using the tube smoker.  If you're cold smoking using the tube why did you need to build a cold smoke adapter?  More importantly, if you're smoking sausage, brisket, pork shoulder or ribs you are no longer cold smoking I hope.  You need the water bowl in the tower to catch dripping grease from the drip tray.  It's not there for moisture.

Yes, I permanently attached my cold smoke adapter to the smoker. I find it easier to use, than fitting the large tube in the smoker with the bowl in place.

If I'm cold smoking with the tube,I don't use the v-tray or the water bowl. No pucks-no drips = no water bowl.

I'm still confused by your original question but if you are HOT smoking anything you need the water bowl.
