Auber PID. What have I done?

I bought my self an Auber PID plug and play for Christmas.  Installed it a few months back and am getting ready to use it now.  I just looked over the directions . . .wow. . . just wow.  I have a college degree (not in engineering or electrical anything), fancy myself some what intelligent, but wow.  These directions read like nothing I have ever dealt with.   I searched on here and other forums for an easier direction set, those are not much better.  What have I done? Please reassure me that I will be able to use this thing to smoke food.  I wanted to do a brisket or some trout this weekend.  If there is a link to Auber for dummies I would love to see it too.  Wow. . . just wow. . .

Fully understand how you feel. I am as far from an electronics expert as you can get. There are several members that are and I am sure that eventually one will be along to help. I have a PID but one of the members on here built it for me a long time back.

There are actually a lot of things in there you don't need to ever know for running the smoker. Don't let it scare you.

OK I was not clear I think. Probably due to frustration. I set it up wire wise with no problem.  Its the programing that has my head hurting.  So far I am not happy at all with the money spent on this thing for the total lack of user friendliness.   Maybe I am spoiled but in an age of total user friendliness this thing is a  total mess.  I appreciate the links the Susan Minor link above seems to make a little sense, but still, wow.  I wish I had done some more research before I bought it now.   I will read up on this some more and then do a dry run maybe without meat in it.

When you do a dry run, place a pan of water in the smoker. What I like to do is to place a foil pan with sand, and water to simulate a load.

Once you get everything adjusted properly you will love it. It was very difficult for me initially as well.
