About an hour ago my boxer who stays in my Mother's room really went off. Mother was smoking in bed and had fallen asleep. Damn close. It is reasons like this that made it hard to leave the house.

Better give that dog a big bone.  Sounds like he saved the day.  Glad your moms OK.

Ditto Raye, perhaps that bone should have some of Iceman's BBQ sauce on it as a real thank you!! ;) :o

OK, do the bone thanX thing, but then check out residential sprinkler systems, Olds....best investment for fire security that ANYONE could do for their home/family....especially in new construction! OK...I'll get off my firefighter soapbox now...... ;) :) :)

No soap box there Kummok just damn good sense. I just got back in town and the fire that broke out at the neighbors Tuesday night while I was on the chat room up north destroyed everything. Ann was sending pictures to me as it happened over her cell phone. I drove by this morning and there was absolutely nothing left of the house. They were gone at the time so nothing was saved at all. A whole life time gone in minutes. It runs chills down your spine to say the least. I was told they are moving out of state for good because of this. They just don't want the bad memories every time they drive by.

As of this morning Mother is not allow to smoke in her room, but must go to the garage. Kind of hard to burn a cement floor. Plus she has to be awake enough to walk that far.

Good call Olds.  My mother remarried and her husband now has altimers (sp?).  He is a heavy smoker and she has made strict rules about NOT SMOKING IN THE HOUSE.

Good for your boxer, Raye. I've got a great boxer story I heard from a young woman at work this week. She lives in a basement suite in a cul-de-sac that has 2 boxers (different owners) on it. As she was getting into her car early this week to go to work, she spotted a boxer loose, running around the neighborhood. She jumped out of her car, called the dog by name, who came running directly over to her. She grabbed his collar and took him back to her neighbors house, opened the door (we live in Canada, not everyone locks their doors) and pushed the dog in. Yup, you guessed it, wrong house. A big dog fight breaks out as the 2 boxers go at it. The owner comes stumbling out of the bedroom in his undies sleepily trying to figure out how a dog fight broke out in his living room! I laughed my #ss off. My co worker said it's a good thing she has an understanding neighbor! :D
