I purchased the BS from your site and I have had great food ever since. I also have a question. The door has a metal plate that has screws in it to hold the seal for the door. As I was cleaning the smoker after my first Pbutt (it was excellent) I noticed the seal pulling away from the door. I looked at the bottom of the door and saw the plastic was cracked were the screws went into the door. The screws can not be tightened so the seal keeps pulling way from the door. I have cooked 2 briskets ,3 chickens and a pbutt and I do not think this should be happening. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Swadley,

After each smoke do you clean the face of the smoker & the rubber seal? All that good black stuff that makes the inside of your smoker a little slice of heaven is also a very effectictive glue. That could be what's causing the doorseal to start to pull away.

As for the crack in the lower faceplate, I haven't met a BS yet without one. That's something they need to work on strengthining. It's not a big deal though, unless you allow a bunch of liquid (fat, water) to run out the bottom.
