I feel pretty stupid here.  Ok, so maybe I should've put the towels the meat was FTC'n in the washer sooner but I didn't get to it for a couple days. They were ripe to say the least and not just smoky.  Some of the juice leaked out and must have spoiled some I don't know.  Anyway I went to wash them the usual way and now the whole load smells bad.  Wash em a couple times and still they smell.  Any help here appreciated.

Clorox is your friend.

Next is Oxiclean.

After that, Kingsford lighter fluid is required........   :o

Gizmo

Try Soiluv to wash and Febreeze for smell.  The towels are probably a toss.
Soiluv has done some pretty amazing things in this house.  The guy that told me about it used it on his boat carpet to take out grease stains.

That used to work around here, but she is on to me these days.  Luckily she likes the end result on the food and think it is cute that I am acting like a mischievous boy!

regular laundry soap did not work.  Oh and my wife said,"don't wash those towels with anything else or I will burn your wardrobe".  I guess I really need to keep her clothes separate.  It's a wonder she lets me in the laundryroom at all, especially after I turned all her nice camisoles pink from my red sweater.  Oh well, live and squirm.

Oxyclean did not help either. Mind you this load of laundry is going on its fifth wash now.

And the winner is:   a combo of Tide with Febreeze and straight out of the bottle Extra Strength Febreeze in the liquid soap dispenser part of the machine.  Got it all out.

Wife reiterates,"don't wash those towels with any thing else". I told her it might not be a good idea to leave them in the cooler for days afterwards either before washing.  She said, "You did what?"

Good thing I do most of the cooking around here or I might have been without my credit card for a couple days while she went shopping.   :o

Gizmo

Febreeze is a mandatory product purchase while visiting Vegas for my family.  Being an ex-smoker (for many years), I was amazed at how sensitive I became (after quitting) to the effects of second hand smoke (for those of you who still smoke, please don't take this as an offensive comment).  Just walking through the casinos plugs my sinuses and makes the clothes and hair smell.  Never noticed it when I was a smoker.  I have been amazed at how effective Febreeze is at eliminating the oder.  :D

Gizmo is right - I use Fabreeze on my hair all the time (not much left anymore)  :D  :D  :D

Never had any luck getting smoke smell out short of some stuff i had from a fire restoration place...was years ago and dont know what it was called.  May be what Gizmo is referring too.  ;D
