beefmann,

Welcome to the forum. Not quite sure what you are asking for. A PID controller, or a digital timer? Or both in one package?

It sounds to me that you might want to turn off the puck burner after it is done with all the pucks. If that is what you want I would go to the hardware store and get a cheap intermatic timer. It is not a digital timer. I use it to preheat the Bradley so that when I get up in the morning it is ready to go.

I also do not quite understand what he is asking for. When I build my PID unit I plan to use a digital timer but am going to use it to shut the main heat off after a set period of time. That way if I want 10 hours of cooking, no problem just set the timer. The digital generator and the amount of pucks in the unit will take care of the smoke time. I have more thinking to do before jumping into this but it should be pretty easy to do. I'm hoping to come across a free temperature controller one of these days at work. There are time a customer wants to upgrade an older controller and just pitches the old one in the trash. That is how I picked up the Allen-Bradley digital timer I plan to use on this project.
