I think that Char-Broil could be discontinuing the original Big Easy with the newer bigger Costco unit. Look around close out places for the original, which I think has much faster cooking times as the larger Costco unit. In some areas they are labeled as Thermos. We are finding them in Northern Ca for 85.00.

I would find that interesting seeing how many places sell the B&E unit. I don't see Lowes, Home Depot and any other place selling a Costco unit. It would be a very bad business model to only offer it via Costco.

Unless it's a plan that did not work out as expected?? I really don't know. Did you see the post about the guy who had to to exchange his 2 times to get a good one? [On the Char-Broil Forum]

QuoteManxman, this $139.00 is the best monies I've spent in a long time. We are using it at least 3 times per week... from beef to stuffed apples.

Stuffed apples........... now I just love stuffed apples!   :)

As far as I can see this product has not made it to our side of the pond yet, no doubt it will arrive here in the next 5 - 10 years and will cost twice the price!  ;) :D

Often large retailers have clot with the manufacturer and can get the manufacturer to make models with specific features you can't get anywheres else. I often see this with products sold in Sam's Club. Sometimes these models make it to the general public. This may be the case with Costco. It may have arranged to be the exclusive seller the larger unit under the Big Easy name, for a period of time before it is released to other retailers.

No I did not.

FYI I've had 2 Bradley generators replaced via warrenty and have had to purchase 2 more! Buying items made in China is a crap-shoot.

Another example of Chinese made junk is the radator in my Midget. The first one just did not cool the engine (212F-215F.) The second one overly cools the engine (165F - 172F.)

Another example is 2 of the 4 new shocks for the Midget failed in the first 30 days.

Another example is the new 4 new rims (the best offered) had to be replaced as they were so out of wack that they could not be balanced.

Last example is the steering wheel. It is wood with crome. The crome cleaned off with a soft rag on the first wheel.

The sad part for me is there are no OEM parts any longer for my Midget. (Exception is I did get an original Brit wind shield.) Otherwise it is Chinese or nothing.

As I joking tell the truth: There is more Chinese made parts on my Midget than British. Then there also is that Japanese made transmission I have!

As I said, "Buying items made in China is a crap-shoot."
