I was walking around Wegmans for the first time today, and noticed they had some Brats. They carry both Swiss and German Brats, freshly stuffed. I was very tempted to pick some up but already had a Boston Butt in my cart...

Has anyone tried these in the Bradley? If so, what're your thoughts?

A couple years ago i smoked some Amish country sausage (store bought). Turned out ok but not as good as my sausage.

I'm with you Nepas not as good as my own. Besides I wont need to buy any Brats for a couple of days.

You need to find out if these sausages have any cure in them. If they do not, you will have to hot smoke them. (cooking and smoke at the same time)
If they are cureless and you want to smoke them the way a smoked sausage should be done (start at low temps) you might create some bad bacteria in them.

If you hot smoke them, the meat inside might look like it is crumbling away.

Ask the sausage gods and they can explain in more detail.
