Hi All from Denver CO
I have not quite made up my mind as far as new smoker.
But reading through the Bradley Forum has helped so much.
Every one seems so friendly and helpful.
Has me very anxious to get started.
Looking forward to trying so many things.

Welcome rocky

If i had all this to do over i would go with the digitals. However the entire Bradley line of smokers are great. I have had all kinds of electric smokers and the Bradley beat em all.

Welcome to the Forum.  A great place to hang out.  The addicts hang out here and the addicts know how to do it and do it well.  The only electric smoker I have ever owned is my DBS and couldn't be more pleased with it.  Owned lots of type of grills and smokers over the years and still have a few so I can do some bigger cooks easier, but I fall back on my Bradley for home use - so much easier.  Haven't found the need to get a PID yet, but the time is quickly approaching as I start my new sausage making addiction.

Smokin Soon

Welcome Rocky! I cruised around here for a month before I bought my smoker, and it sure helped me hit the ground running. Lot's of good info here, and on the recipe sight.

Welcome.  I have enjoyed my learnings here as well.  (I am very newbie)

OK Gang, I believe Im going with the 4 Rack Digital.
Sounds like I may want to add the PID down the road.
What would be a good "very newbie" recipe to start with?
Can't wait to get started. Guess I'll have to work on my "smoker slang"
Thanks for all your great help.

You will enjoy the Bradley regardless of which one you get.  I went with the OBS in stainless and added a PID.  Lower in cost than going digital and adding a PID later.  PID is only a luxury item anyway.

Here is a good starter that does not take much time: http://www.susanminor.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43

The most forgiving thing is pulled pork.  It does take a long time though.

Silly name for a squirrel. Something I heard from a good friend. Made his dogs ears perk up.

Wildcat,
That's funny that you suggested that recipe.
I had something similar, that a friend made. Oh my gosh,
it was yummy. I think it may be why I started thinking about my own smoker.
Thanks
