Looking to smoke a chicken today....tequila-lime marinade....how does one crisp the skin?

Toker

Hi its almost impossible unless you end it up in your oven.

Yeah, it's tough to get a crisp skin on a smoked chicken because so much moisture is given off that it steams the skin.
Just like toker1313 says and oven finish is the best way to get any crispness to the skin.
That's what I do.

or the Big Easy.

I'm ok with the fact that it doesn't crisp up because then I'm not tempted to eat it ;D

Up In Smoke

you could do cold smoke then bake in the oven or TBE.
but i am with deb...if it ain't crisp bailey gets it mixed in with
his dog food.

Some people are like Slinkies... They're really good for nothing.
...But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Caribou

You two are wise people, if it's crisp I eat it.
It's healthier not to eat the skin.
Now when I make rotisserie chicken on my grill basted with white wine and butter that's another matter.  ;)
