Sorry if this is a silly question...

I just bought the 6-racker and will be firing it up for the first time this weekend....
I was just wondering how hot does the top of the smoker get? I would like to reheat some sauces and wonder if I can just put a pot on the top of the smoker (no stove available on site)

thanks in advance!

It won't get that hot. Just warm to the touch.

Welcome Aboard John!!

Sorry you won't be able to reheat your sauces on the top of the smoker it doesn't get warm. You could however get a small saucepan and put it in the smoker adn add some smoke to your sauces while heating it up in the smoker. Might just take your sauce up to the next level.

What they said. Not hot enough for that. Even in South Florida.

What 10.5 said.

I do beans on the bottom shelf and let the juices drip in it for extra flavor.

If you had a small rack that would hold it over the damper where the heat is at without stopping it up it might get a little warm depending on how hot the inside of the smoker is.  Just watch out for flies.

I would get a small electric hot plate and use that....
