Hi HR!
I don't have a PID yet.  But I do have a chain in which I chain myself to my smoker. :D

Some people are like Slinkies... They're really good for nothing.
...But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

yeah, bought the unit off of ebay for $33, bought SSR off ebay for $7 i think, got a box at the local radioshack and a board. already had wire and ends, so that was all free, just debating if i am going to put a heat sink on it or not.

I got this unit off of ebay if anyone is wondering:

the tet-612
The price was $38 a week ago or so for a buy it now and free shipping, looks like they raised the price (got 12% cashback, which dropped the price $4.5)

the reason i got this model is because of this post, i just modified it so i could use it externally.

Looks like a good unit, hoping to make something with it this weekend, not sure if i will have much time though

Very cool...   I'm interested to hear how it works out.   Fancy building one 'ready to go' for some extra $$?

Hello,
I bought the parts from Auber and installed them in  my OBS right from the start.I like being able to set the temp and not worry what it actually is,because I know it is what I set it for.I have used it four times so far and it works perfectly. You can't beat a Bradley smoker and a PID.
