Greetings friends!  It has been way too long.  The Mrs and I get out with the camper, and pretty much go to LA-LA Land...
We got a smoker - our second - when Cabela's had that unbelievable sale, and we have been using it when we out out camping.
For the first smoke in the new camper, we smoked a couple turkey breasts and some baby backs:

A great way to break in the new smoker!
Hope all has been well with everyone.  We will have a lot of catching up to do!

Seemore:

I'm curious as to the OBS purchase for the camper.

Did you consider the BPS ?

(We have a class C we picked up in June)

So how did the breast turn out?

With no skin on it i would think they might dry out a little

FLB, Seemore has one of them great big monster 5th wheel Coaches. He had it at the Midwest Smokeout. Thing looks better on the inside than most houses do.

Seemore it looks perty good sitting there, Although not as good as my DBS did!!
Bacon is the Crack Cocaine of the Food World.

Be careful about calling yourself and EXPERT! An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure!

FLB, I got carried away - the smoker is new, not the camper.....

We chose this smoker over the propane smoker mainly because of the cost - for about $50 more we got a full-size smoker - the Cabela's sale was what did it.  You just can't get a regular smoker for $200.00, ya know?
Having said that, the HEIGHT issue is another thing.  The full-size smoker stands 30 inches tall;  our biggest storage compartment is also 30 inches tall.  Mr. has to store the dang thing on it's side..
Mr. also mentioned something about having to buy covers for the propane smoker after so many smokes.
So in the long run, with the height issue aside, we have saved money by getting the regular smoker.  AGAIN, that was when Cabela's had that incredible sale.
So, Seemore got his birthday present a little early this year, and he will have a second smoker to use at home during the winter months.   :)

OU, we used the recipe that came in the booklet with the Bradley Smoker.  It is on page 12 of the Bradley Smoker recipe booklet.
If you don't have the booklet, I will gladly write down the recipe.
What really did it for this turkey was the fresh thyme.  It is awesome, and makes wonderful sandwiches.

I'm not sure I have a compartment that big.

Next time the BPS is on sale, I'm going to pick one up.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Oh, Good Lord, you did no such thing!  ;)
By the way, what kind of RV did you and the wife buy?
We have always liked Class C's.  We got a little carried away with what we have, but it is our summer home, basically..........

It's a 29 foot Holiday Rambler.

2003. We have put 1000 miles on in since June and we have not left the state!

Holiday Ramblers are the best!  Our first fifth wheel was a Presidential;  we both regret trading it in.
There is a lot to see and do in Florida, so it is no wonder that you have put in so many miles and not left the sunshine state!

Our first trip was to Cape Canaveral for a Shuttle launch that wasn't (Jetty park)

Then we went to Ft. Myers (Red Coconut) we were 40 steps from the beach:

We have two more trips planned, Beverly Beach Camptown and Fort Wilderness.

Current financial conditions have me downgraded to a "Class Z Coach", 2 portable q's and I cooler full of ice cold pops and vac sealed ribs, loin and chicken just waiting for the final "crisp" with a re-sauce!

Gettin back to basics is kinda fun! Got a trailer hitch adaptor for my Treager that will look kinda strange hanging from a Ford Escort, but let's go!
