Well Here Goes, I just received my Bradley 4 rack and I cant wait to get my hands into it .... Today is the first day of my smokin life and I am really excited.

My name is Terry and I live in Aberdeen, Scotland. Its snowing outside right now and about -2 !!! nevertheless I'm away to put this thing together and get smokin....

Get that unit seasoned and have a good first smoke.

Keep the vent open at least 1/4 for all smokes, open fully for poultry.

With temps like that it will take a while to get up to temp. Try to keep your smoker out of the wind if you can.

Well I guess you will be back because good or bad you will have results!!! I don't think you will have bad results though there are just too many folks on this forum that are here just waiting to help you have the perfect smoke.

Hi BigT!

I just got done smok'n some PR in a blizzard with temps in the low 20's.

Had the new toy in the garage to keep it out of the wind.

A couple of thing I notice that's helps alot in the cold weather.

1. Keep smoke generator on at all times (even when your not burning pucks).

2. I add a couple of bricks in the smoker for mass. 1 down by the water bowl and maybe 1 or 2 on the top rack. It helps to bring the temp back up after opening the door.

3. Resest opening the door to take a peak.

4. Keep vent about 1/2 open. If you see liquid coming out of the bottom of the door open vent some more. Moisture will kill your heat in the tower. Wide open vent for poultry.
Poultry has alot of moisture in it.

5. I foil the back half of the V tray (drip pan) and don't block the drain hole. This forces the heat to the center and front of the tower. You can pull the V tray forward alittle to let as much heat as you wish up the back side.

Just some tricks I do......hope it's works as well for you as it does for me.

Another tip is to fill the water bowl with boiling water during the preheat.  Every little bit helps.
