When my sister makes them the sauce is the simple part. Tomato soup mixed with some tomato sauce, S&P. This is how my mother taught her and is Lithuanian/Polish. I'm not sure what the sauce from the Irish would be like.

Around our house since wife is Russian we call'm "Golubtsi".
Since I'm Italian I call'm gas makers. But wife usually wins.

I keep seeing this post.  So this morning I was thinking ...

I made Pernil (Puerto Rican style fresh shoulder (picnic) roast).  It came out really well and I have left overs, so ...

Chop up the pork, add some parboiled rice, chopped cilantro and some Q sauce.  Blanch the cabbage leaves.  Stuff and pour some diluted (beer or wine) Q sauce over 'em.  Put 'em into the oven for a while.

My only fear is that the Q sauce (Jack Daniels #7) might overpower it.  Any thoughts?
