No Pork Bellies!!!

I have tried to find Pork Bellies in Redding CA, found 1 butcher that had 2 that were about 4 lbs each. Thats fine but he wants $2.99 lb for them. Is that what they cost? Where can I get them for a better price? I know I can get butts for a lot less.

To Much!!! Buy the pork butts and make cottage bacon instead. It will be leaner and bigger pieces! [:p]

The simply ridiculious!...I'd tell you what I would do....I'd move.  All kiddding a side, I had to do a little looking also.  My first stop was at a real butcher shop and he said he could get it for me and it was under 2.00 lb.  But my best location came from out little local store that cuts some of their own meat, they turned out to be the best source and the price was the same.  Both places I would of had to buy a whole side as my minimum order.  I'd think smaller and older type community type store.
