Does anyone have any good recommendations on how long to smoke a 5 pound brisket?

I appreciate your help!

Thanks,

Smoke it at 220* 3 to 4 hrs and then finish cooking it at 220 till IT is 192 to 195.

You are probaly looking at 10 to 15 hrs.

Based on past experience, I'd figure on 1.5-1.7 hours per pound.  But, it's the IT that really counts.  Then an FTC for at least an hour.

Is it two layers or one layer?  At five pounds I'm wondering if you might have a good sized flat.

Hit - do you have something to check the internal temp?  That is what you really need to go by.

The last 5 pounder I did took 10 hours and it could have gone a little longer.  It stalled at 160 forever... finally made it to 180 which was nice sliced but could have gone a little longer. Some type of meat probe to check IT is really a must.  Take pics and get our mouths watering ;D
