My friend at Cabelas told me that the stuffer motors had bad wiring and switch and have been backordered until Weston get the problem fixed. She took my place when i left in the processing area so i know she is saying the truth.

Hang in there mike  ;D

Thanks for the inside information  Nepas   thats why it seems like the whole world is out of stock
on the motor kits

Thanks

I had a old fruit press we used to press sausage out of.  None of my friends would help me anymore so we built a 20lb hydraulic press (water tap powered).  I wil see if I can post the pics some time when I dig it out again.  But buying the cabelas 20lb would have been cheaper (with motor).  I think our final tab came out around 500-600.
Mostly due to trying to find a nylon piston and 1 inch thick top and bottom plates.  due to the amount of pressure this thing builds.

5.75 piston dia.
40 psi tap pressure.

3.14 X ( 2.875 X 2.875) = area of piston.  (25.95 sq/in) x (40 psi)= lifting force of piston (1038 lbs).
I can almost press unground meat.  lol but like it single ground corse

Quick question. . . .
I have the cabelas grinder like the one you have in the pic, mine is th 1 1/2 hp model and i use it for stuffing.  I have been contemplating going with the vert stuffer.  How much better is the stuffer vs using the grinder for the same purpose ????

The stuffer blows grinder stuffing away.

Is the Cabela's 20-lb stuffer a good stuffer?  I am hoping they have a Veteran's Day sale with employee pricing and am seriously contemplating this stuffer.  I just processed 3 deer through the 3/4 hp commercial grinder (grinding, then stuffing): 25 lbs summer sausage, 25 lbs pepper sticks, 25 lbs summer sausage, and 10 pounds processed venison ham (frisco spices recipe).  I told the wife, I need a stuffer.

I'm reading good and bad reviews on this stuffer.  I'm thinking the bad reviews (gears breaking, etc.) are from folks not putting enough water in their stick recipes for the smaller tubes.  So far the good reviews out weigh the bad, and we can always contribute a few problems to operator error. ;D

Sorry I haven't been on in a while guys, had a busy summer and now it has been hunting season...
