DarqMan meets classicrockgriller!

So I'm in Huntsville visiting my friends Tom and Mary and CRG says, "Let's meet for a burger and beer, there's a place halfway between Livingston and Huntsville that makes a mean burger and fries."  Great!  Count me in!!!

Well, when Sonny said it was a good burger, man oh man, he wasn't kidding.  The Hilltop Ice House is a little place off Hwy 190.  It was a beautiful day, not too hot for the 1st of July, the sides were flipped up so you can enjoy the outdoors and the fans were on deliverying a cool, pleasant breeze... this place was NEAT I'm telling you.  And the burger?  Yeah, it was simply fanstastic.  It was loaded with everything and I had juice dripping off both elbows. ;D  It was so good I completely finished ALL of mine.  Sonny's son Caleb was there and had his down in what seemed like 3.5 seconds!  Caleb is a super kid, he's laid back and enjyoable to be around just like his dad.

Thank you Sonny for the terrific lunch and box of goodies.  I will definitely be posting lot's of cooks when I get home with all the cool stuff from the box. You're even more awesome in person than you are online. I truly enjoyed our visit and am looking forward to the Texas Smokeout this fall.

Why am I not surprised that CRG would know of a great place to have a FABULOUS burger.  It takes a good cook to know where the good places are to eat and have a little fun.  Looks like a good time.  Yes, I wish I could have been there. ( Just a little too far to drive. )
