First Brisket help

No worries - it will make tasty leftovers!   A little apple juice and a crock pot will do wonders.

Yeah, you won't have any trouble getting rid of the rest of that slab. I've got chunks ready to cut up and mix with a little sauce and throw on a bun. I've also seen where some of the guys here use it in chili...that is definitely on the list.

I was advised that to start checking for doneness about 170 and probe with a thermometer or a fork. There is no problem feeling the difference and in mine it varied, I suppose by the thickness, fat content, etc., but when that fork slid in without an effort, out it came.

My wife says I can make it anytime I want, but next time i'll have to do more than one. :D
