Has anyone tried the All Purpose Extra Spicy One-Step Mies Breading on Wings?

Got my 5 lb bag of All Purpose One-Step Mies Breading today along with an 8 oz All Purpose Extra Spicy One-Step Breading.  Got me some chicken thawing out in the fridge and can't wait to try this stuff ... Watch out - the sky's the limit now  ;D ;D

I will say that the delivery from Rodak's Specialties was great.  https://www.rodakscoffeeandgrills.com/OTHER_COOL_STUFF.html

I might try baking them.  The directions call for the following:

  • moisten wings in warm water
  • tumble them in a ziplock bag or bowl containing the breading
  • let sit 1 -2 minutes (it will create its own batter)
  • Spray a rack with non-stick cooking spray, load with pieces, and place rack on a cookie sheet
  • bake in preheated 350º oven
  • when baking lightly spray with water to seal in natural juices and promote browning
  • Cooking times vary based on type of food item and thickness of pieces

My latest batch cooked in the big easy. I really liked the extra spicy Mies, but wanted to turn up the heat a bit without saucing after the cook. Soaked the wings in some jazzed up Carolina Treet with a variety of hot sauces, and bagged up for the night. With the really wet stuff like wings, the shake in a zippy works better than anything for the breading. Let them sit out for 30 minutes before cooking. Superb!!!

Chris, are the darker ones the spicy and the lighter ones regular?
I may have to get some of this stuff, all the posts are making me curious.

The fight isn't over until the winner says it is.

My next test is one they have by bulk only called "Spicy Plus". I have a sample bag to try. The folks at Mies say this one has a "bite" to it.

Mix some of that Soileau's seasoning to the regular.  :P

I agree Snelly.  Going to bake some halibut I brought back from Alaska tonight.  But I plan on baking some chicken legs tomorrow night using my newly delivered Mies.  Gonna post pics  ;D ;D
