I made a quick run up to the locker plant this morning to pick up some supplies. Deer season opened here in Iowa on Saturday so today was a busy turn in day at the locker. Which was evident as soon as I pulled in the parking lot.

The guys where so busy. They was just weighing the deer and stacking them on a trailer. Once the trailer got full the would move it back to the skinning station. Where they would skin them and send them into the cooler. This locker plant does about 3,200 deer a year and about another 125,000 pounds of boned out deer. They shut down all normal locker business for the month of Dec. so they can process deer.

The Trailer!!

Looks like my house a couple weeks ago.

It was a very good year for me and the kids, the kids friends and some of my friends.

Boned out 2 more for a friend, lastnight.

The wife asks "dont you ever get tired of that?"

I said "what? I didnt hear you I was in a zone"  ::)

I love this time of the year.

Wanna trade places over the winter?  I have to run out for some groceries this evening yet, because somebody stayed in bed way too long today. ;)  I can't use my high beams because the dimmer switch don't always like to put 'em back to low beam when I meet someone, and I have a hard time seeing deer anyway...can you say scared to death? :D

Yhat's about as many deer as I have around.  :-\  The problem is that they just come by and eat everything I've planted - even the deer-proof stuff.

Let me know when you're comin' and I'll try to have enough pennies saved up to come over for a visit.  I may not hunt, but I'm pretty good at eatin' and drinkin' and bsin'. :D
