Found a vacuum package of smoked salmon in the fridge from a year ago.  It has never been opened.  How do I know if it is still good?

Smokeville

Vacuum packed unfrozen smoked salmon is a good candidate for botulism.

Sorry!

On the other hand, if it was commercially produced it must have a best before date.

I'm not known on this forum as being real picky about aged salmon (properly stored!) but even I (  :o ) would toss that one!!

In the trash it went.  No sense in taking a chance.  Thanks for the advice.
