I have had mine for 2 years and no real problems. Yeah cancel your order and then go find something better for the same money. Like everything you buy some will have problems. The thing with the bradley is if you have an issue Bradley will bust their ass to make it right. Their customer service is second to none. They had a problem with a supplier of heating elements and it took them a year to get it figured out but not one person who had a bad element had to pay for a new one or the shipping and they got them asap. Bradley is an awesome company and you won't find many who say otherwise. Owe yeah my brother has had one 2 years also and no troubles with it. Jamming I would like to welcome you to the forum, this a great place and if you have any questions at all just ask them here. You will get an answer fast. This forum is provide by Bradley and has now got a chatroom too. The air here is more like a family. We like share recipes (except NePaSmoker we have to pry the recipes out of him ;D) we like to tease each other all the time too especially in the chatroom. We have had a xmas gift exchange 2 years in a row now and that is great funny. The members here are very generous too. We have more surprise gift boxes showing up at other members places than UPS can keep up with. I have to say that if you get the bradley you will enjoy it so much. Us fanatics have had a life change because of these things. Really. And if you think you are just buying a smoker you are likely wrong, you will probably branch off to other great things, like sausage making or cheese making and lord knows what else.

What they said..

Welcome aboard!

Jamming,
Welcome to the forum.  If you're looking for perfection you're going to be disappointed no matter what smoker you purchase.  Having said that Q makes a great point about the Bradley company.  If something is wrong they immediately make it right.  I have personally seen them replace parts long after the warranty expired.

You do what you feel is right for you.  If you choose to stay with the Bradley we will welcome you with open arms and help you through the learning curve with a Bradley.  If you choose to cancel your order enjoy whatever smoker you find that you think is better with a better support group.

Jammin, I don't know what more to say then what Quarlow has already said, the loads of problems that you read about, I am sure if you followed those problems, most all were solved and in alot of cases the front office of Bradley jumps head first into the problem buy being the first to come to the aid of the one that needs their problem solved and all cases that I read about, it was done free of any charge including postage and no they did not have wait for a month to receive any part that caused the problem..this family here will go out of there way to help you in any way they can...never had a problem with my Bradley, but this I do know, if I do, I know the name Bradley is behind me...should you cancel...Hell No..join our family and have fun... :D

NO DONT CANCEL i have a DBS in one year of a two to three times a week use i have had only two malfunctions and like the others said about the customer service is truly the best  when i was fixing the first malfunction the tech stayed on the phone with me till i got installed properly you made a very good choice

Bradley has an excellent product. I have the digital 6 rack now and yes the temp is not exact(+/- 10 degrees) but remember you are SLOW cooking not trying to cook fast like a deep fryer. If you plan on doing sausage and you do not need the space of the 6 rack then maybe you should order an original and spend the extra money on a PID where you can control your temps to +/- 2 degrees. All in all I love their smoker and have recommended it to 2 other people who have them now. All I know is the food is good in these things and I get plenty of compliments. Good Luck in whatever you decide.

I really hate to be a little blunt here, but but using the term "premium smokers" leads one on to range of products from $1200 to $3000 bucks. The Bradley is, and has always been the best bang for the buck. I have had mine 3 years and have learned from all of these great folks on the forum, how to do perfect cooks. The final decision is yours.

Got mine in 2009 and only had one problem which was fixed almost immediately. Don't forget, people also end up here when they have a problem, so you will read about a large majority of the problems. You won't read as much from the folks that don't have issues so it may seem a bit skewed. Also we have a lot of folks on this forum that just have to tinker, so don't interpret all the member designed and posted enhancements as being product deficiencies.
I own one and if I had to do it over again the only thing I would do different is I would buy it earlier than I did.
As said, good luck which ever way you go, and if you go Bradley --welcome .

I've had my OBS for...well...maybe 6-7 years now...never had a problem that I didn't cause myself...use it once or twice a week on average...it's a trooper...just take care of it and it will take care of you!!!

Don't cancel your order...the unit is well worth the money...give it a go...customer service is primo if you have any problem...don't find that to much anymore...

WOW !!! Thanks to everyone for there opinion, I do know when something goes wrong with anything, everyone talks about it, and when things go right people mention it less. I feel much more confident in my purchase now and looking forward to some smoked foods !! The last smoker i bought was a costco propane smoker and it works well, but you had to watch it like a hawk, thanks i will report back wheni get it !!!

NePaSmoKer

Bavind
