For my last cook before my surgery I wanted something I normaly don't buy.  I went to the store for thick NY strips!  These were killer and couldn't have been any better.
One on the left has Gun Powder seasing and the rt one has Rodak's coffee rub

This was Kimmie's steak that I started 19 min's before mine!

This is the real temp I pulled Kimmie's steak, and she said it was still not done enough!!

Evan with th IT being so high it was still juicy!!!!!  Got to love INFRARED!

DTAggie, thanks again for the great rub!!!!!

Hey TMB, is that a Charboil infrared?  I've been looking at the new Charbroil RED line and have been tempted to grab on if they go on sale.  I don't yet have a gasser in the line up.

Well done Tommy. I wish you well and hope you still hang around during your recoup time. Even more so I hope to see some right hand only cooking.

All the best to you.

Those steaks look good.

NY strip is my favorite cut of beef, and I like them medium rare. A local supermarket has them on sale right now with the bone, never saw them that way. So that would make them a porterhouse or T-bone with the tenderloin section removed. After seeing your post, I will be picking up a couple.
