I have been looking on Craigs List for an electric turkey roaster for months and finally found one in my city.  They wanted $25 for it and said they only used it once.  I only drive my truck on Sunday's too  ;D

So I calls them up and ask it they will take $20 for it.  Yes they tells me.  I say I will be there Friday afternoon to picks it up as I am in Key West for work.

I drives home today and drives over to pick it up.  Looks it over and plugs it in and she gets hot so that is a good sign.  I says where is the basket.  She says it never came with a basket.  I says the box says it comes with a basket.  She says it never came with a basket.  I says, I wonder how you get the turkey out if there is no basket.  She says she only used it for a party and never had a turkey in it and it didn't have a basket.   :o

I says a basket would sure be handy to have to get a turkey out and she says she will take $5 off it cause the basket is gone.  I whips out my wad of bills and pay her a $5 and a $10 and walk away with a big smile on me face.

What do I need a basket for anyway?  I am doing sausage and I gots a nice pair of tongs to pull them out with.  This model sells between $60 and $70 in the store so I am a thinkin that I got a pretty sweet deal.

This is a 18 quart roaster and she will hold my lengths of Summer sausage.  I am one happy camper.

Enough ain't enough and too much is just about right.

Sweet Deal! I probably should have gone that way, but I just

Has anybody tried running one of these thru your PID.

Might want to use the meat probe instead of the small

temp probe.

I am not sure how many watts this roaster carries.  Someone on here in another thread (wish I could remember) said they run theirs with the PID.  I think Kirby suggested to seal the probes just in case it slips into the water.  I will have a bit of time today to take it out of the box and play with it.  Will hook up the PID and see if it will work.  Hoping that I don't blow up my PID.   ;D

They do make an immersable probe for the Auber. I was thinking about that my self

The roaster I have holds a constant temp without an PID.

Just sayin.  ;D
