FLBentRider raises money for cancer research!

As you may know I do a lot of cycling.

Last year I participated in the Dolphins Cycling Challenge.

I rode 75 miles and raised $750.00

This year I am "kicking it up a notch" - I signed up for 175 miles - 100 miles on 11/5 and 75 on 11/6.

I have to raise $1500.00 this year.

We are raising money for cancer research - to benefit the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

I had a close friend pass away recently from this disease, I am dedicating this years ride to his memory.

Last year we raised a total of $533,106

Keep bumping this thread up, and as time gets closer, I will see if I will be fortunate enough to be able to help ya out. Can't commit anything right now though.

Very worthy cause, lost my mother to Cancer back in 1989.

As you know I had a post about two or three months back on making pulled pork for my mother in law who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She had a big setback last week. Then yesterday, my next door neighbor, a wonderful family, wife very young with a 5th grade daughter and kindergarten son, diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. It seems everywhere I turn this damn word - the BIG C - is popping up.

FLB I will get to your website tomorrow to support your ride. We all need to do what we can to kick this things A**!

Just added my contribution. I had prostate cancer and had a prostatectomy a year and abit ago. So, I know the value of research. Good luck on your ride and on your efforts to reach your goal

Done...in.... god bless you...go for it buddy! I did a 20 mile ride once and that was that!!! :( My butt hurt for days...
