I feel guilty for cheating on my pulled pork.  I smoked a butt for 3.5 hours with Jan's Rub and continued to cook at 220 until the IT was 180.  I pulled the butt and foil wrapped it until it cooled down.  I placed it in the fridge overnight then cubed it and put it in my crock pot with my favorite BBQ and slow cooked it until the meat pulled apart easy. It was very tasty and tender.  I know I probably missed out on some great experience with 10 hours in the Bradley but it was easy to do.

I would not call that cheating - simply utilizing more tools. A few on here smoke in the bradley and finish on the grill, in the house oven, and probably even the microwave. Far as I know nobody boils their meat.

Don't feel guilty.  If you and your loved ones liked it - that is all that matters.  If in the vernacular of pitmasters you don't have barbecue, who cares, neither is a grilled steak, but they are mighty good also.  You won't win the Jack, Memphis in May, or the Royal, but big deal.  You liked it.  Mom used to make "oven barbecue" every now and then and I scarfed down a lot of it!

Thats not cheatin bub.  Cheating is buying that Curly's crap or Jack Danials BBQ for the store and serving it if you smoked/pulled it yourself.
Is it bad if my wife refers to the smoker as "The Mistress"?

If you cooked it the way you like it, I see no reason for you to feel guilty, most all of us like meats done different ways from rare to well done, to falling off the bone to chewing it off the bone...I sure hope we never fall into a rut that we all have to cook the same way...
