We live just across the river from Moline, IL, the headquarters for John Deere.
We stopped at the John Deere store today to get a package, and then went into the museum across from the store.
This is what we saw:

The 'combine' is made up of over 300,000 canned goods. The 'ground' was comprised of bags of dried beans as well as popcorn seeds.
It will be taken down and the canned goods given to local food banks.
I thought it was pretty cool, and wanted to share.

All I can say is WOW.

But then I thought of this, the total cost of the products to build that beautiful piece is still less than a quarter of what it would cost to drive a real one out the door and keep it....and I'm being generous with that, probably much less.

Ummmm... dunno about that, Tim...

I have a (mucho expen$ive) 500 series JD garden tractor, yet, it cost less than a lug nut for one of those BIG BEASTS.
(I'd have been more than happy to pay the cost in PEAS AND CARROTS).
Awrighten.
