I just got their new catalogue but I haven't had a chance to look through it yet. Good to hear they are continuing to expand.

didn't know they had a catalogue, will have to get one
i have a bunch of different flavours from them,
tried their honey garlic pepperoni, was not too bad.
you guys suggest anything from there that is really good?
either your in, or your in the f***ing way

Mr Walleye

I really haven't tried their various sausage mixes. I have bought various other items and parts from them but I can't really comment on the mixes. I have a couple of friends that order mixes from them but I can't remember what ones they are. I'd be interested in hearing anyone elses responses on the mixes as well.

I have used a lot of there mixes and they are excellent. The only problem with them for me is they do 25 lbs. of meat and thats too much for me at one time. I may be fussy but it seems that after you reseal the packet it stills loses power if left any lenght of time. But then i used to order 6 pks. at once and some of it got pretty old before I had a chance to use it. I only do 5 lbs. at a time now so I use raw spices. Thks Piker

good info about the loss of flavor, i just sealed up the bag and put into a
snap-lid ziploc, maybe i will transfer to a canning jar
what would you recommend Piker for flavors that you liked?
either your in, or your in the f***ing way

Mr Walleye

Certainly for storing them you could vac package them & keep in cabinet (dark place) which should help.

25 lb batchs eh! That's exactly what I mix at a time. Usually at least 100 lbs or so but in 25 lb batches.

Piker

there summer sausage was very good, polish one for fresh, honey garlic for jerky was really good. I found with theirs as well as other brands that the ones with garlic in them were not very strong so I would always add extra garlic to them. Their breakfast sausage, beer sausage, and the wild game under the Belmont name were excellent. Thks Piker

rigstar

thanks for the info Piker,
will have to remember that about the garlic as we all love garlic in the house
trying to remember what i all got, i think i have a couple of those, so i must have
guessed good

I had a look at the new catalogue last night. I see they also have Cure #2 now. It seems in Canada it is hard to get but nice to see they are carring it now. Also some starter cultures but limited information about them.

I have ordered some snack mix from them and really like it, but like it was said before it,s for twenty five lbs and you have to break it down with a good scale. Very limited information about their mixes but so far the ones I have tried are good.

I meant to add, Did you guys (Canadian) check out the prices on Vacuum Bags?

The 8" x 12" are the ones I use most. It's not a spectacular price per 100 at $30.45 (30.4 cents per bag) but the case price at $185 per 1000 is 18.5 cents each!

That's a good price!

Plus they have free shipping on orders over $200.

PS

I meant to add a link to them...

Just got my first  order from them and am pleased with their fast shipping and product. Until I heard of them I was having problems sourcing some of the ingredients as I am in Canada and rather new to this passion. If your order is more than $150.00 not including tax and placed through their online store you get free shipping in Canada  Looks like I got the last of the free shipping with a $150.00 order. THANKS FOR POINTING IT OUT. Now I have to spend another $50.00 to get free shipping . That should not be a problem.
