Any one here use chaffing trays to keep meat warm for serving? If so how do they do? I'm thinking on buying 6- 8 1/2 qt ones. Person I know has them and their asking 20.00 each. All stainless and used but not hurt. Got a wedding cookout coming up and a lot more cookouts to come. If these work well it may be what Im looking for. I see they start at 60.00 each and go up. So should I buy or not. These have a place for two cans of fuel each. Will that really keep it warm?

I have not used them...but I'd buy them at that price!  You could probably resell at later time if not needed.  I'm sure the food will be kept above warm but not hot especially if food is pre heated.

We use them every year for New Years Day party. They work well. We have some of the ones that use the candle looking thing underneath  ;D.  We also have some that have three sections and they plug into an electric outlet. They also work for what we need them for.
Ditto on selling them later if you dont need them anymore.  ;)

That does sound like a good price.

I use the wire type holders that holds full steam table pans. You can get them at Sam's, but I'm beginning to see them in many major grocery stores.

Well constantly trying to keep meat and things warm at our partys. Biggest problem is over cooking. Figure these might do better.

Those work great. We fill the unit with Hot water then put a foil tray inside to avoid the hot spots from the burners

I use them all the time and they work great for keeping the meats warm and moist.
Like 10 pt said, start with hot water in the pan then light em up and load.
