They announced on the 4:00 newscast that there is a worldwide bacon shortage coming.  NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Hey, BAM...  I heard it too...
The drought/feed/pigs thing...

Of course, yes,  it could be BS... 
But, what I heard is that the shortage will hit next year because of this year.
I dunno.  Just sharing the "pig news" from pig country...

Might have to invest in a Guinee pig farm, I could cure Some Bacon Bites and charge everyone tripple 8)  ;D ;D Seriously we are going to see a lot of prices raising. I have takin a 1% wage reduction the last three years and they just cut my health insurance to the basic plan instead of the super duper plan.
I sure hope I'm entitled when I turn 67 :(

Ill take your call,,,,,,,,,,,,over $8.00 a bushel for corn thats only bringing 20 to 30 bushel an acre and over $14.00 a bushel os beans thats producing less than last year and over twice the selling cost.

DISASTER! Mark my words

Oh ya last year we had a flood and still produced over 160 bushel an acre of corn

Do thew math,,,,,,,,,,,,,we ARE running outta feed!

I see it every day, the bins are empty

To make it even better we (humans) 70% of our diet is some sort of grain.

Just said on the news here in Iowa that the shortage will mostly be in Europe and our prices will go up about 10%.  I still may try to get a contract with the locker in Edgewood.  Can't run out of bellies.

One of my Dad's corn fields yielded 14 bushels per acre.

Isn't part of the problem that the government is diverting the corn for Ethanol. Then this creates a feed shortage and raises the feed prices. Causing hog farms to cut back on the amount of hogs they raise?

Everything but our paychecks is going up in price already. No matter how much farm subsidies the government provides if the dollar loses value then food will go up in price. They keep borrowing or printing more money making the problem worse IMHO.
