Kielbasa Natural vs. Collagen Casings

Tom, I don't think it matters what brand of collagen casings you use.  Don't know whether it is true or not, but I've been told that only one company manufacturers the collagen casings that everyone sells.  Maybe someone can confirm or dispute this claim.

That said, I've used collagen casing that I picked up at Cabella's and I've used some that I think I bought from Lem when I was getting a couple of stuffer parts.  The only difference I could tell was that they were packaged a bit differently.  Cabella's in a prettier retail package, the other in a simple zip lock type pouch.

My family didn't have much when they came over after the war in '49.  This was all hand made.  It was hard moving it over from Yonkers, but it works great with the eagle globe pot belly stove.
