I am not one that would normally ask this of folks, but some members of my blood family are in need of some divine guidance. I have five siblings and our mother passed 2 years ago this month in a hospice facility. We all had difficulty dealing with it. One of my brothers and one of my sisters are still having difficulty. Now my father is under hospice care and will pass any moment now. I am the oldest of the children and am the one selected to make all decisions and do all the coordinating. Although it is difficult God has given me the strength to handle it. My request is for my Dad and siblings, especially the two siblings that have still not gotten over Mom's passing. The brother I speak of also has some difficulty in knowing when he has had enough to drink. On top of this, my Dad's only brother is also near the point of needing hospice. He has been fighting cancer for several years now that was brought on by Agent Orange.  I am hoping that a large group of prayers will help the ones that are having difficulty in coping with all of this. Your prayer's and thoughts for them would be greatly appreciated.

Prayers are on the way.
When my mom passed away after about 3 months of hospice care. One of the things the hospice offered was free grief group therapy. You may want to see if your hospice offers this service.

I appreciate it guys.

GusRobin - I think they do but we are not in the same area. Dad is back in Elberton, GA where we all went to High School. All of my siblings are scattered. I live in FL and have been dealing with this via phone. One of my sisters and Dad's only surviving sister have been visiting him. They both live within 1 1/2 hour drive. Dad has severe Alzheimer's and does not even recognize the fellow in the mirror. Been in a nursing home for a few years now. The group therapy would not work in this case. I do appreciate the advice though.

Wildcat-
You may count on my prayers for you and your family. In particular I will pray for your brother. You see, I'm a "friend of Dr. Bob" myself so I know how difficult that road can be. I'm just over a year sober now and my life has never been better. I will pray that that he may recognize that he has this problem, because that is the first key to recovery. If he (or anyone else reading this) wants someone to talk to about this I am available 24/7/365. PM me and I will be happy to provide a phone number where I can be reached. Helping others is key for me in my own recovery.
Blessings-

you and your family are going through difficult times, it is  never easy to be put in the position of making decisions and dealing  with it all, hang in there and keep communications open with your family,,, also listen to them as well as  keep them  informed.

Been in your shoes wildcat. Know the feeling. It is a frustrating situation, best thing to do is stay strong and try to understand where everyone else involved is coming from. Not easy sometimes. Many prayers coming for you and your family.

Thanks folks. He passed early this morning. I just got through making all the funeral arrangements after coordinating with my 5 brothers and sisters. Looks like Thursday will work for everyone. I can't do anything else until Monday regarding other things like stopping retirement benefits, etc. My one brother needs your prayers more than anyone. I really appreciate it. I have always been strong and so far I am holding out just fine.
