Somehow Olds, I don't think Skyway would let me get away with them...LOL - those photos of him always on patrol in your garden - those pups are his domain!  He'd probably amble over, clomp down on my arm and hold me there, wagging his tail, waiting for you to come home so he could say "hey dad, look what I caught for ya!"

How'd you hold up in the storms now that they are temporarily? past...

Well hopefully we are out of the woods.... I decided to take a break this weekend and reload a very old game called BattleZone (1998.) Had to tweat it some and add some strange hacks to get it to run on XP.  However, I have had a blast.  Did BattleZone and then loaded up Red Odyssey--which is a BattleZone addon. It is 10 times harder to win.

Just got my A$$ handed to me again. LOL~~!  To give you an small idea of what the game looks like I've been posting some of the pictures of he game. For some strange reason the link to that posting will not work here??? Anyway below are a few of the pics. The artwork in them is great. So ya I've been having fun this weekend.

If you don't care to check them out at least look at #10. It is my favorite. It is a chinese ship coming through a portal. A portal that they control. Their ships can cloak. Mine cannot. Make for some real tough fighting and building of a base when you cannot see them coming. At least they have to de-cloak before they can fire. I generally snipe one of their ships so I can cloak and move among them. Check out their base and see what it will take to distory it.

Well folks it looks like we are getting it this time. It has failed to turn North. From what I can see from the tract (NOAA 5am today) the eye might very well pass over Tampa (15 miles from my house as the crow flies) before it turns somewhat North. It looks like it will exit in North Pasco county (next county North of me.) It is still to be a Cat 1 when it exits the State.

I just cannot believe that Polk county has had 3 direct hits within 5 weeks. God, you got to wonder what is left there to tear up. I always wonder why they called Lakeland...Lakeland.  Now I can see why it got so many lakes.

Susan and I were talking a few minutes back and we are getting much more wind this time--especially given how far the eye is from us, and at the moment its tract is just about the same as Frances. They say it is smaller than Frances by 10 mph, but you could not proved that by me.  At this rate I don't expect my banana plants to last another 3 or 4 hours. They have already closed the Skyway bridge and seeing how this storm is still on the other side of the state that is something in itself.

For those who read this posting and don't know what the Skyway bridge looks like, here is a picture:

Like many in Florida I've gotten somewhat lazy. I could be better prepaired. Years back I had a Honda 5KW water cooled generator. I think I could kick myself for selling it. I do believe that for Christmas Ole Santa is going to bring me a new one. I've think it will be the 6500 Honda. I will mount it into one of the older vans that has a 35 gallon fuel tank. Then plum the gas to it just like we do a truck mounted carpet cleaning machine.

However, it would have a cut off value so I could also remove it from the truck and/ or use its own fuel tank as well. That would give me 41 hours under rated load of 50 amps. Of course you would not run at rated load even if you were running your A/C.

What I would run would be power to the two refrigs, lights and a small A/C we have in the family room. I would not power the main house A/C.  Hooking it up to the house would not be a problem. Years back we did a hook up on another house.  The Honda is quite and given the fact it is water cooled is a big plus. Here is a picture of one:

Well I think I think I run my mouth enough so I better do my business postings/ billings this morning as tomarrow I'm not sure about the power. Already did payroll, but if the banks are without power it is not going to help the guys any...

Wish us luck!

Hang in their Olds!  I flew back Friday night and caught a glimpse of things to come - we were at 41,000 feet and the clouds stretched forever...flying into Atlanta was just a little rough as I believe we were in the outer reaches of the clouds brought in by the storm.  We had to fly from Atlanta up towards Kansas City and then back down over New Mexico and Arizona to skirt Ivan's clouds...the lightning show was pretty spectacular!

Well it has turned North...Lord help those folks. The eye is about 20-25 miles from me now as the crow flies. There was a loud bang so I put on my all weather gear and checked outside. While out there I could not believe the number of cars on the road. Some of the winds all but knocked me down and one would have if I had not gotten behind the garage wall.

Fools in cars during a storm~~~go figure.
