Look...guys...we like to clean...it's a...well...gunk and grease is not good,,,you gotta agree with that? Going with a longer screw seems like a well thought out plan!! I spoke with my hubby about it...he wasn't sure? Not sure why...:)

Tell him about a longer spring enhanched screw LQ. That'll get him thinking. No, really the longer screw with a lock nut and spring does the trick. :D ;)

I came across another post somewhere here where a few people used denatured alcohol to clean theirs. I tried that tonight and WOW, it took the gunk right off. All is took was a folded paper towel dampened with the denatured alcohol. Didn't bother the finish one bit.

I use a spray of Brake parts cleaner.  Works well, but tough on the hands
