I suggest that next week Tues on chat night that those who care to come up with a person for this job be there.

After that we, as a group, will summit our request for Moderator change to Wade Bradley.

Olds.

BTW Do not include me in the list. I just don't have time.  In fact I'm behind Hab in listing recipes as he has 13 or 14 done already.

Olds,

Maybe we could start a thread for people that are willing to take on this job to post their name in so members would have a pool of members to choose from. That way we don't suggest someone who doesn't want or doesn't have the time to do the job.

Just a thought.

That might help out Bryan. I don't know shoot about forums or computers otherwise I might be able to help out.

Mr Walleye

That's an excellent idea Olds. In fact, to make it a little easier, there should be be 2. That way if someone is not around things are still being looked after... just a thought.

I am new here but I am a member of a few forum sites. The moderators on those sites usually have a very high posting score and knows the ins and outs of the product and website itself. If there is going to be a vote, perhaps at minimum, the member's post count should be a fairly high value with reasonable input to the forum.
Just my 2 pennies.

I wouldn't mind helping out a bit as well.  It's the least I can do.  Plus, I'm unemployed right now (although I do have an interview next week).

I am in the same boat as you Ice.  I have the time, but have limited computer abilities and this is the only forum I have been a part of.

I vote for Mr. Walleye. My calculations are that he is on 28 hours every day......   :D :D :D

I like the idea of two persons.  But folks if you don't know what your doing and if Admin gives you enough rights you can mess up a board real quick.

Even if this was my board I don't have time to walk someone through it.

Hab has super moderator rights on our recipe site. I have not had to take any real time to teach him. He is on spot. I hope soon to have him replace me as Admin. Oh I will still be Admin.. I just won't be there. IMO if Hab has time I believe he should be one of the two new moderators. However, I will leave that up to you folks.

Just remember a bad moderator can really mess stuff up. A good moderator will keep things running smoothly.

One more thing about my vote for Hab is he has been here a long time.  He spends time helping members here and that is the mark of a good moderator. I've seen so many good members come and go, but Hab has been steadfast.

He has my vote,

I don't think you would get any argument out of anybody around here regarding Habs. I couldn't agree more with you... Habs has my number 1 vote too!

Olds and Mike;

Thanks for your confidence in me, but I don't believe I would have the time to be a moderator of a large site like this. To monitor a large site as this would require more time than I could provide, in order to do a good job.

The recipe site is different; that is something I feel I have the time to do a good job. Its smaller with few categories, not many posts to monitor, and I enjoy going into the recipe site when I get some time to work on the recipes.

My vote would be for HS but he just beat me to it!  ;) :D

IMHO there should be a couple of moderators, not necessarily people with "just" a high post count but also people who have the respect of rank and file members as well as the time...........  and computer literate as Raye says!

I notice that Chez was last active on 12/04/08 (or should that be 04/12/08 in the US?), perhaps as a courtesy we should let him know as a group what our thoughts are as he was one of those instrumental in getting the forum up and running and I think at one stage he was quoted as saying it was a very lonely place for the first few months! And a thank you for all his hard work in the past?

He had a big input as to where we are today............. just a thought?  :)

Manxman - I totally agree with you.  Habs would be ideal, but as he said time could be a factor to him.  He obviously does not want to do a half arsed job of it (which really boosts his character even more in my book).

I believe several of us have tried in the recent past to contact chez to no avail.  Sure miss him.  He was the deciding factor in my choice to buy a BS in the beginning and has been a real help to me in the past.

Mike - I do not know anything about your computer skills and time available, but I have been very impressed with your knowledge and willingness to help others.  You certainly have come through for me.  How about it?

Ah, that puts a different perspective on my comments.

Great shame he is no longer involved, he was kind enough to ship a Maverick ET-73 and Bubba Pucks across the pond to me here in Britain with little or no profit in it for himself and I have always appreciated that.  :)
