I have 5lbs of grounds venison that I am going to dehydrate in my Cabelas Dehydrator.

Approximately how long should I dehydrate this 5lbs and at what temp?

I understand there will be variance, but just looking for a minimum and maximum time for 5lbs to dehydrate.

thanks in advance. will post some pics tomorrow!

I have the Cabelas 80L. When i do jerky i start at 145* for an hour then bump to 160*. This temp can take anywhere from 4 to 9 hours depending on how you like your jerky. Remember if its snaps and breaks its over cooked/dehydrated.

Any temp under 140* (if not cured right) can be bad and form a host of different sickness causing nastys.
