I LOVE MY KITCHENAID MIXER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like a little kid!  I have never been able to see a pizza crust that I made actually RISE to twice it's size!!!!!
We followed one of the recipes for Chicago-style deep dish pizza crust on that site that Deb and several others told us about.
I am actually looking forward to this pizza tomorrow.
We smoked some pepperoni and are making some more mozarella cheese for this pizza tomorrow, too.
Pictures for this will follow..........

Congrats on the mixer. The first time I did pizza dough I had to do it by hand. It was not really to bad to do it that way but the next time I made it I borrowed a KA mixer from my sister. Man it was easy to do and I think the glutens formed much better and the crusts came out great.

Gizmo

Seemore,
Did you use a spiral dough hook?

Very cool Seemores!

You are going to love the mixer.  I use mine at least once a week.

I have Chicago crust rising in the fridge too.

I can't thank all of you enough for telling us about the KitchenAid and how wonderful it is!  In all of my 50 years, I have NEVER had a pizza crust do this in a pan prior to baking:

I was just amazed that I could stretch this dough up the sides of this deep dish pan, and there were NO HOLES!   :o
It was easy to assemble once the dough was in place:

And when we took it out of the oven, all I could say was WOW!

Thanks again for the advice and the vote of confidence!  I am finally PROUD to post a picture of a pizza that I made!

Sorry, Gizmo, I forgot to respond to you in all my excitement over a real pizza crust that I made.
Yes it is the spiral dough hook.  It did in five minutes what I could never, ever do in 15 or 20............. :-[

Way to go, June.  The beauty of it all is that now when you ask Scott to buy something else, remind him how long it took to get a Kitchen-Aid and what you did the first time out with it!

That pizza pie is a thing of beauty!

Steeler....she's a keeper!

That pizza is making me seriously hungry!!! Well done June.. the KitchenAid is a big friend in the kichen...we make a lot of bread and it's brilliant for that!! And cakes, cookies....whip cream...(I could go on...but I won't)!

Gotta go make pizza dough now!!!  ;D  :D

Thanks, LQ and SD!
I do indeed plan to make some breads as well as cinnamon rolls.  There is also a jalapeno cheesecake that Scott really likes that I have not made since our old mixer went to appliance heaven that I need to make again.
SD, do you think if I ask for a Jaguar - not the animal - I could coax Seemore into it?    NOT!  :):):):):)

I'd start with a Big Easy...a diamond.... or a Mercedes and work your way up...  ;D Start small...make more pizza...then go bigger!!! He won't even know what hit him!!!  :D  :D  :D  :D

I'd like to here about your jalapeno cheesecake.  I do a habanero lime cheese cake but what I have read on cheese cake, you don't want to over mix the creaming of the cheese or your cheese cake will crack.  Time for a new thread I guess.

I'll post the cheescake recipe tomorrow, under a new topic.
I think you will like it, Giz.  If you would not mind, could you give us your recipe for the habanero lime cheesecake?
Thanks!
