For any brewers or beer freaks (or freak beer lovers) out there.....

Wondering if anyone has tried to smoke malt for a Rauch Beer or a Alaskan Smoked Porter Clone?

I think I may try it and looking for tips or advice.

I don't have any advice for you but if you make some I would be happy to taste test it for you. ;D

I made a smoked porter a couple of years ago, click on the above link.

I just want to smell the smoke and drink the beer. Not mix the two! ;D ;D

If you have not had Alaskan Brewing Company's Smoked Porter with some great Q,....... WOW.

If you are not a dark beer fan try Schlenkerla Rauchbier (Smoke Beer) from Bamberg.

I smoked about 3.5 pounds of base 2-row with apple. No heat. Worked very well. A beautiful rauch beer. Subtle and delicious.
