They went in yesterday afternoon.
162F @0700 . They should be done by this afternoon - into FTC for the hour drive to the stadium.
Now we travel with two coolers. The hot one and the cold one. LOL.
FLBR,
Your buddies must LOVE to see you pulling up on the parking lot 'cause they know you're bringing something good to eat. I hope they're supplying you with beer for all of the food you bring them.
Have fun tonight and I'm pulling for the Dolphins since the Saints aren't playing. :D
KyNola
Yup - I told them I am bring the pulled pork and the buns.
They better bring everything else....
Do you pull it there at the stadium?

Squirt,
Your talking about Men, Beer, Food and Football. I have visions of cavemen ripping into those porkbutts. "Ow thats hot, but damn that's good, where's my beer?" will probably be heard.

There's probably someone up high with binocs just watching for your vehicle ;D
And if you've seen our vehicle in other posts, it is hard to miss...
My wife drives a high-roof 10 passenger Sprinter!

And it makes a great landmark...
If you've ever "lost" your car at the stadium, mall, theme park parking lot..... you don't drive a Sprinter!
PS: We are going to be SO lost when we get another vehicle....

Been there, seen that. About 10 days ago in my back yard, Man what a masacre.
HR
You need to get some pics of your tailgating masterpiece 'in action'.
Not sure how many tailgate around here for the STL Rams games.
Instead, most of the remaining fans just..

I've got pics to post later.. It was a great game. One butt is gone.
The left butt or the right butt?
That was cheeky....
The port pork butt.
Man tailgate parties... that would be so cool ! Lucky Man FLB
Thanks.
With opressive heat comes tailgating in shorts - all season.

hahaha squirt :D
i'm jealous FLB...tailgating culture just doesn't exist here it's pretty sad. actually football on the whole pretty much doesn't exist in Canada either - Ottawa doesn't even have a CFL team anymore! more of a hockey country, i suppose :)
It sucks that tailgating is pretty much illegal here in the great white north.
I am a huge CFL fan and will with much emabrassement admit I am an Argo fan
I may have to become a traitor for the playoffs. Cant decide which would be worse, pulling for Hamilton or Montreal FLB I am not sure what is worse, not having a team or having the Argos for a team
On the subject of tailgating, NASCAR crowds know how to tailgate. We went to a race at Pocono a few years ago and culture shock would be the understatement of the millenium. Before I knew it, it was JD with beer chasers at 7 in the morning and howling at the rising sun ! I think I need to go to another race now that my liver has returned to its normal size.

Tailgating illegal ???
eh ?
OS, what liver ??? ???
I've never been into tailgating as such. But, out on the sailboat at 7 AM, popping a cool one and putting a pot of snails and some clams on the grill on the back of the boat for breakfast, that was good stuff.

You nailed that one on the head. Been to Daytona and the in field is a world of its own. Talladega is unreal they let you bring in coolers as long as they fit under your seat and no glass. Kansas is kinda more strict about the drinking but still a good time. The only tailgating that everyone is friend no matter who you rout for and you would be surprised who many BBQ's you see in the parking lot. Food and booze to be had by all and yes the drinking does start at 7:00 AM
60,000 fans having a good time, dont get any better than that.

Awesome pics. Did you leave a stain in the parking lot from all that juice? Looks great.
Looks like a good time, must be nice to were shorts in Oct. >:(
Must have been a nice day everything looks great, the butt, the tailgate set up and most of all the butt.
Yes that is some good looking bark, what are those bigger chunks of spice's ?
It was in the mid 80's most of the evening.
That is the renowned Mr. Brown rub. I think what you see are peppercorns.
It was a double batch, so 1/2 Cup of fresh cracked pepper, paprika, and brown sugar, etc...
It is a peppery rub that is really growing on us around here.
I pulled the second butt out of FTC after the game, about 00:15 EDT. It was still hot enough to burn my fingers on the fat.
It was kinda funny that one of group had some peppers and onions to saute (to go with the brats) and they forgot the oil.
I gave them some pork fat from the first butt. It was the best peppers and onions they ever made!
Sounds good, haven't had the Mr. Brown rub for quite a wile, going to have to dig the old Smoke and Spice out again. Thanks
Way to be thinking on the go with the idea of using the pork fat to do the onions and peppers. I bet every one was a bunch of happy campers.
Man 80's in Oct
great looking bark FLB
and yes tailgating seems to be frowned upon by the boys in blue here in Canada. there's no shortage of public drunkenness or smoking of certain substances in the open :o - but tailgating just hasn't been adopted ;)
Wow. Football without tailgating. I am having trouble wrapping my brain around that.
The concessions are so expensive in the stadiums that I don't know how we would work it.
We thought it was bad when the NFL started doing "pat downs" on entrance - which are a joke.
public drunkeness ? "smokin'" ? I would say that more than 40% of the 74,000 fans at the game were not fit to drive @ kickoff...
;D
Dammit! I just had dinner an hour ago and now I'm going back down to the kitchen looking for scraps. And, the cats are following me.
