That's a pretty good spreadsheet. Thanks for posting!
Cool spreadsheet. Thanks 10.5.
Thanks for the link 10.5!! Some good stuff on their specially for a newbie like Me ;D
If only I new how to save the whole thing as a .pdf like STC!
I run a mac at home and my not so legal copy of office is not working so well
I think the mac will run openoffice:
http://download.openoffice.org/other.html#en-US
I didn't see "Canadian" on the language list :'(
I tried converting it to a PDF, but it didn't come out so well. (chopped some of the pages off, etc.)
Let me try to import it into my Google Docs account.
[edit]
Well, that didn't work either. It's too big. And since it is protected, I can't do much else with it.. >:(
Canuck, I can send you the PDF I created if you like, but it looks pretty awful.
No worries STC, I appreciate the time and effort!! :D
If I need to I'll print off what I would like at work.
Cheers,
sNc
Nice find.

I checked with Charlie (Cranky Buzzard) and the only page protected is the cover page. I let him know that I might create a new cover page and share it. And he will still get the credit because he did want to keep his name attached to it. He seemed like a real neat guy and asked a few good questions.
Wow, thanks. It open's fine with OpenOffice on Linux.
Good find 10.5 Thanks for posting it.
The only problem I had with it was trying to open the BBQ Safety file. It comes up as "Invalid Format" on windows 7. Is that just my computer or does anyone else have this happening?
Iceman it opened just fine for me but I am using Vista and M/S Office 07

I'm getting the same message. I'm using XP with Office 2003. What program are you opening the file with?
I open it with Excel 2007
The file is a Excel 97-03 file
I opened it earlier but know I get this.

Hello folks!
A friend told me that a link to my workbook had been added here and I wanted to come in and say a couple of things...
First, thanks for the kudos, I hope the workbook is working well for you!
Second, tell me what you want to see!
In the last couple of days I have been informed that a PDF of the book would be nice and I have NO PROBLEM doing that. The MAIN reason I published this in Excel was for folks to have the ability to modify it for their personal use and preference. As BBQers we ALL love to tweak to our liking! ;D
I've also been requested to leave the book open for modifications.
PDF, no problem, I will have to go in and make sure that everything is within the boundaries of the PDF generator, but that shouldn't be an issue.
As for leaving the book open for modification... It is! The ONLY page that is locked is the front page of the book. All others are open for you to modify, tweak, or expand on at will. The ONLY thing I ask is that you leave my first page in place when you pass it along to others.
This workbook was created to assist folks that are new to the hobby of BBQ and smoking, and to help those of us that are challenged in the "remembering" realm! :o
I'll see if I can get a PDF of the workbook done in the next day or so, and look forward to any suggestions or comments about the book that may make it better.
Charlie (Cranky Buzzard)
Welcome aboard, Buzz!
I tried to do the PDF thing with your spreadsheet, but since the first page was locked, I couldn't get it to generate any of the links, control page size, etc. Sounds like you are on the ball with it!
And right now, we get a 404 'file not found' when using the original link posted here:

Try the link now. I made a couple of slight cahnges and screwed up the link...

That link works for me now.
Thanks for the workbook Charlie. Good job!
First off I cook BBQ and am NOT a computer guy! :o ;D :o
But, here is the first draft of the Workbook in PDF. Let me know how it loads, works, etc...

Looking forward to critiques.
Charlie
Charlie,
Just opened. Haven't had time to disseminate it closely, but sure looks good. Great job. Sure it was a labor of love!
Looks darn good to me Charlie. THANKS!!!
Looks good Charlie!! ;D
The Excel file has a hyperlink that's not working and it affecting the PDF also.
On the table of contents page, the BBQ Safety link doesn't work.
Other than that, it looks great.
Thanks for all the work on this and welcome to the forum.
