Title: New Canadian smoker
Post by: ottawasmoker on February 19, 2010, 05:05:38 PM
Hello all.

Just picked up a 4 rack DBS last night, seasoned it and smoked a spatchcoked chichen with some special blend. Mmmm mmmm good.

No issues with my machine, working perfect out of the box.

Welcome ottawasmoker.

I have 2 Bradleys and both are working smoothly right out of the box also.

Good to hear your smoke went well!

Chapel Hill for me. I'll let you know if I find any good deals on meat in the area and vice versa. I picked up two whole pork shoulders for $0.89 a pound. (Anyone know how to make a cents symbol on a computer. As a computer tech I guess I should know that!)

keep me posted on those deals.

I buy most of my meats from Lavergne Western Beef on Navan rd, great price, great products and they're local.

I bought steaks from Lavergne's a couple times - excellent meat. I was thinking of contacting them for brisket, can't find any easily around here.
Loblaws/Supestore has the meatiest ribs around I find. The cryovac 2 to a pack are awesome. I have about 7 racks waiting in the freezer right now along with the two shoulders.

Thanks for the tip. I've been meaning to check that place out. The line ups were just crazy from what I heard when it opened.

I grew up in Bayshore and Bells Corners. Dragged out to this end of town when I married a Beacon Hill lady.  Some friends of mine are friends with a Monty from Nepean. They worked at Mothers with me and went to Confed.

Welcome, lots of great people here.  RickWL63 clued me into Sam's having Angus packers for 1.89lb.  Just got back an hour ago with two of them.  Now if the Admiral will just let me age them.   Got her case a Vodka so that should help.
