Title: What size casings are the Tillamook snack sticks?
Post by: Cope30tyee on March 01, 2011, 07:05:04 PM
Guys,
I want to make snack sticks similar to the Tillamook snack sticks they sell at the grocery store.  They are fairly then and I like it that way. What mm casings are they using?

Most of the large commercial makers can get 15mm collagen casings. Private folks can if you hunt for them but they are pretty expensive. If you want smaller diameter casings 17mm are avail at most of the online sellers.

Thanks nepa.  What is the largest diameter stuffing Nozzle/tube I could use to stuff a 17 mm casing?  Would a 3/8 inch fit? Or would I have to get a 10 mm one?

3/8 should fit, you might have to pull the casing onto the tube.
