Title: SS In Cloth
Post by: NePaSmoKer on July 01, 2011, 05:25:47 AM
Have a friend who sews on the side. She made me some un-bleached muslin bags.

Green sewing is for Bologna/SS with mild heat. Red sewing is for warm/hot and plain white sewing is for regular. Got 20 yards of bags being sewn up now.

Got a small 3lb batch of SS mixed and going to smoke later tonight.

Some how you have to convince your wife that you can be trusted with the cannon in the house again. Explain that you fixed the bad fitting or something. My problem with my making it in the house hasn't been with the stuffer it was my meat flicking friends. They get the meat on their hands and try to flick it off. My wife found sausage stuck to the cupboards and the walls. I just want to do it where the mess is not a problem. I would love a meat processing room or something like that.

I see you do your SS in the cloth bags quite often. Why do you prefer then cloth over synthetic casings??

I guess its been in the fridge long enough now  ;D

Fridge time reduces the green weight and makes for a nice semi dry SS
