Title: Scorpion Bite
Post by: Gizmo on August 12, 2011, 10:35:03 PM
B-I-L brought me a present the other day.  Hoping to get some seeds from it and grow them for some Trinidad Scorpion Bite sauce.

It is known as the Trinidad Scorpion.  Reportedly now the hottest pepper, edging out the Naga.

Looks very similar to the habanero or scotch bonnet.

That's a big sucker for a hot one...I always associate the really hot suckers to relatively small? Is that stupid?

In general, the smaller and pointier the pepper the hotter, but as nature will have it consistancy is not always there. Also these days, the way they are manipulating vegetable species you can now buy mini-sweet bell peppers (green, red and yellow) that are smaller than jalapenos.

Hopefully harvest the seeds, plant, and grow more for Scorpion Sauce.

I'd like to get my hands on some of those seeds. I enjoy hot peppers, but I think that this one would take me down for sure. I imagine you'd have to cook very carefully with this one ;D ;D ;D ;D
