It is a Spanish dish very similar to a stew.

This will be the protein...

My mom used to make rice and garbanzo together when we were kids. Dam I hated that. I wanted
Rice and beans. I remember my parents eating home made
Blood sausage from a
Freshly slaughtered pig. Then the pig would be cooked with a big pole with a steering wheel at one end as one of my uncles would
Sit with a bottle of puertorican  rum and slowly turn it over the fire pit made of cinder blocks and
Home made charcoal from the mountains.

Sorry you hate garbanzos Mike.   :( :( :( I'll make some beans next time  ;) ;) ;)

I cook a whole pig atleast once a year and  still remember those home made sausages I ate all the time in SPain as a kid.  I try to recreate what I remember and ask my mom for as many recipes as I can.

SamuelG, keep those Spanish dishes coming.  Man, I love seeing them and adding to my arsenal of feeds.  That's one place in Europe I haven't been, and for some reason I can't get my wife to go.  I dream of the food.  Migas de Pastor cooked like a woman back home in lard and loaded with bacon - I though I was in heaven.  Asturian Sausages, the Basque country and the rustic dishes of Catalonia.  And unfortunately there is not a spanish restaurant in Nashville.  Oh, there are a couple of supposedly tapas places, but boy are they expensive and frufru and not all that good, but you do get your money's worth of pretension.

Sam....it looks fine to me...we will help kill 10 hogs in Feburary, a yearly large family thing...hams and sausage mostly, we skin them all now, we don't scrape them anymore...we still make up some (scrapple) pawn hoss and puddin..and we still use all the natural hog casings...
