Saturday while I was smoking/cooking 6 butts Kimmie had a friend come over to eat dinner with us. He brought over 1 1/2 in thick ribeye steaks for me to cook on an infreared grill.
Well here are the steaks, Kimmie's on the top of the grate and mine and Shawn's on the lower.

Now (no kidding) I started Kimmie's 15 min's before I tossed ours on. He looked at me like "Are you kidding me"? I said what do you mean?? He said killing a steak like that! I said if Kimmie wants it burnt then I'll burn it :o
Here is ours at 137 IT perfect!

All I can say is at the fall gathering expect food to be burnt!!!! :o :o :o :o
I agree with you and Shawn on the steak!!!

Man them look good, I'd even knaw on Kimmies of that was all that was left. :)
I can relate to that. When I first met my wife, she would not even eat steak. I used to cook it well done and melt cheese on top of it to get her to eat it. Gradually, I have coaxed her along to the point that she appreciates a good medium rare steak as much as I do. They don't know what they are missing

Well, I did hear her say "Best steak you ever cooked"! I said no, best steak I turned into jerky ;) ;)
She has had med to med - well and still thinks they are under cooked :'( She has no sence of taste just texture I guess
I hesitate to say it but I like Kimmie's steak. "If it's still red it ain't dead." ;)
Medium to medium well for me. Linda likes hers medium well to well. We simply do not do blood.
They look great by the way.
Me...I do rare...my wife med well...I like the two on the bottom...nice grill marks Tommy...
Yum. While I like med-rare to med I love a good sear crust.
Jim

I like'em rare.My wife would like the bottom two just fine.Nice pic's.
I'd take any or all of the 3...however the 2 in front are still a little bit overcooked to be perfect.
God endowed cows with rib loins for people who enjoy flavor.
And then, he remembered the other (well-done) folks, and he invented round steak.
Awrighten.
I like a good cut of meat to be rare to blue still cool in the middle is the best! The wife likes med to med rare.

You gots dat right. I like what the French call "bleu". If you were to ask for medium they'd toss you ought of the restaurant.
If it doesn't wiggle a bit when you stab it on your plate, it is probably overcooked!! ;)

Steak tartare is also popular in France. Need I say more.
Besides, I don't pay too much attention to the customs of a country where they won't even pick up a pizza with their fingers and eat it. :P
I hate to say it but if you want it chard you might as well cover it in catsup. : i think a good steak is just pink in the center, jo you can enjoy the fine suclent taste of the meat!

I don't mind a little pink in mine but, if it's bleeding it's still alive.
The wife doesn't want even a hint of pink.

Oh yes they do. Ought to give the foal tartar a try if you're over in these parts. Seriously good.

Amen to that. Some of the pics I've seen of "cooked" steaks on here they might as well not have wasted the time to make the grill marks and just went from the fridge to the plate.
That's what makes horse races folks. If ya gotta 'em, smoke 'em.
If mama aint happy, nobody's happy. My wife loves her's rare, but the mother in law likes 'em burnt too. I always start the MIL's 10-15 before the rest!
