I joined the forum waaay back in 2005 when I got a OBS and then a Stainless Bradley. Stayed on for about a year or so, then kinda dropped off. I've made a LOT of bacon in both the Bradleys since 2006, tried out my sausage making skills, decided they weren't so great after several tries. Then other things came around that occupied my time but still made the occasional 30lbs of bacon every so often. My source of pork bellies left and haven't made any bacon for about 2 years.
My wife and myself both retired in the last 2 years and with that I have a little more time to devote myself to cooking/smoking on the Bradley. I'm also the proud owner of a 6shelf DBS that I just picked up from WalMart yesterday. I seasoned it yesterday, and this morning put a small ham with some Kiolbassa brand sausage on today that turned out great for a first smoke.
I'm glad to be back
Hi Rexster and welcome back to the forum!
The ham and kielbasa sounds like a great sounds like a great start on you comeback road. ;)
Congrats on the retirement. Now you will have time to get back to hone those sausage making skills. :D
Mike
The sausages are made by a company called Kiolbassa ( http://kiolbassa.com/ ) in San Antonio, Tx. Some of the best store bought stuff around. Funny enough, the people who own it are named Kiolbassa.
