yes and no,,,the yes part is above, with you using your favorite seasoning on your pulled pork with whats above, the crust is using albers corn meal for tamale pie. Only difference is i Added cheese on the meat and another layer on top of the top layer of corn meal mixture
Like the others said..... Looks fantastic.
One question, what is maiz? Looks good though. :)

One question, what is maiz?
2 1/4 cup albers corn meal
2 cup water
12 ounce evaporated milk
1 tsp salt
4 oz green chilies diced
your choice of shredded cheese on the meat and top layer of maiz
OH My, my grandmother used to make something similar. That looks excellent and brings back some great memories. thanks!!
That does look good. Might have to try before long. Got some fresh ham that I need to cook.
Showed this to my wife and she said she likes a little meat on her cheese. So I guess I will have to put lots on cheese on it (and jalapenos on my side). ;D

I liked your idea so much I tried it for myself.

If interested, I did write down how I made it and what I would do different next time (for sure leave out the can green chiles, they gave me heartburn). The red things on top is jalapeno peppers that I pickled last summer. Biggest thing is, could have also used taco meat, instead of pull pork. Going to try that next. And should have had the Maiz a little more "soup-ie" so it would spread a little thinner.

sounds for the most part a winner, one good thing is this tamale pie is flexable.. sorry to hear that you had heart burn, did not know that the green chilies would do that to you. hope you enjoy the future tamale pies
